This policy explains what information we collect when you use Gaux, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, get in touch.
Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email, the stage you select (trying to conceive, pregnancy, newborn, toddler, you), and any optional details you choose to add to your profile. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your billing information; we receive only the metadata we need to manage your subscription.
When you watch a class, we receive viewing data from our video provider (Mux), including which classes you watched and for how long. When you take a course through our learning experience (LearnHouse), we record progress and completion so you can pick up where you left off.
How We Use Info
We use your information to operate Gaux: to authenticate you, give you access to the right content for your stage, deliver classes, process payments, send the emails you've asked for, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
If you opt in to research or aggregated insights for employers, anything we share externally is de-identified at the cohort level — never tied to your name or account.
Sharing
We share information with the sub-processors we use to run the service. Today that includes Stripe for billing, Mux for video delivery, and LearnHouse for our learning experience. Each of these vendors processes data on our behalf under contract.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition. We'll always tell you in advance if we're able to.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and measure how the site performs. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser; essential cookies are required for the service to work.
Children's Privacy
Gaux is for adults — parents and prospective parents. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account at any time from your settings, or by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example, to request a copy of your data or to object to certain processing.
Full GDPR and CCPA compliance is on our Phase 2 roadmap. EU and California residents may have additional rights becoming available; we'll honor any request received in the meantime to the fullest extent we can.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after to handle billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information on a rolling schedule.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, encryption at rest, least-privilege access, and audit logging — to protect your information. No service is 100% secure, so we recommend strong, unique passwords and reporting any suspicious activity right away.
International Transfers
Gaux is operated from the United States and our sub-processors may store and process data in the U.S. and other countries. By using the service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
Contact
For privacy questions, requests about your data, or to opt out of any optional processing, reach out at our contact page. We typically reply within two business days.
