About Katie.
The transitions to parenthood can bring up a wide range of feelings and emotions. At times it can feel like a roller coaster with its unexpected turns, ups and downs. Oftentimes anxiety, panic, ruminating thoughts, depression, and relationship struggles show up during the many transitions to parenthood. In some cases, the road to parenthood is blocked by fertility struggles and/or pregnancy loss. Often many women and men in these circumstances suffer in silence. We want you to know that you are not alone, we see your pain, and you can feel better. The most important part of therapy is the work that we do to build trust. It is important to us that you experience a warm, genuine, and safe environment to be yourself. To feel like you can share your story without judgement and/or shame. Using evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness approaches, we help individuals bring awareness to thoughts, feelings, and sensations that fuel their distress. Together we will work to change your relationship with unhelpful thoughts and feelings. We will create healthy coping strategies to manage discomfort and help to regain control over the life you want to have. Together we will create an individualized path for healing so that you can live a meaningful and fulfilling life. I understand how hard it is to take the first step. That is why we offer a free 20-minute consultation to better understand your needs, answer any questions you may have and to see if you and I are a good fit. If you are ready to take those first steps towards healing, we are ready to take them with you.
